Sandy Tracey Completes Petcasso Piece

The Petcasso Collection are limited edition Petcasso sculptures made by Valley artist Misty Mulleneaux, and painted by various artists. The Arizona Humane Society has had tremendous success in this fundraising event since 2011. Sandy Tracey's final piece is titled "Play Ball" to reflect the theme of this years' collection, called "7th Inning Fetch". Each personalized Petcasso sculpture will be auctioned off during the 15th Annual Compassion with Fashion luncheon on March 23, 2013, at the Arizona Biltmore.

Meet the Artist: Sandy Tracey
at Étoile Gallery, First Friday Artwalk Reception 5-8 pm

Étoile Gallery invites everyone to meet exhibiting contemporary artist Sandy Tracey at the First Friday Artwalk Reception on September 2nd from 5-8 pm. Étoile’s ongoing exhibition “Painting the West”, features original work from some of the Southwest’s most respected artists. Sandy’s paintings are from her signature saguaro series called, “Cactus of a Different Color”. Many artists have been drawn to the Southwest, for the inherent natural beauty found in the region. This exhibition explores the relationship artists have had with the area and how the landscape can often inspire completely different interpretations of similar subjects, with techniques from realism to abstraction. Styles may vary but overall theme remains the same - The west, both gritty and gorgeous.

Thirty Works In Thirty Days

The public is invited to a free Opening Reception for 30 Works in 30 Days on Friday, August 12th, 6pm-8pm, at the Pumphouse Gallery, located at: 251 Hwy 179, Sedona, AZ 86336, In Creekside Plaza across from Tlaquepaque. This was an interactive artistic adventure with several artists working in any medium (painting, drawing, sculpture, music, dance, photography, film, collage, writing, textile, etc.). The artists were invited to create one work a day for thirty days, inspired by a word or phrase supplied to the group.
Joyce Huntington, coordinator of the project, is also hostess of the show at the Pumphouse Gallery. Joyce said “it is great to have the feedback of other artists to share a project with since most artists solitarily create… artists are encouraged take it to another level. Works will be available for purchase at the Opening Reception and until the end of August. Hours are 1-5, Tues-Sat.

Festival Of Wreaths

The Festival of Wreaths Gala will take place on Sunday, Nov. 14, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Sedona Public Library located at 3250 White Bear Road, Sedona, off of Dry Creek Road and State Route 89A. Ticket prices are $15 each or two for $25. Everything that has been created for the Festival by artists and craft persons will be on display and available for purchase before they are available to the general public during the gala event.

The event will feature the Invitational Ornaments that have been adorned by many of the professional artists in the community. Starting with a large ornament as their canvas, the imaginations and creativity of each artist has really shown through in these one of kind treasures. Each ornament will be available through a silent auction that starts on the evening of the gala and closes on Nov. 19 at 3 p.m. Winners will be notified at the close of the auction.
